The former Republic of Mircea is a defunct country in the world.

Overview[]

The Republic of Mircea presumably ceased to exist sometime before ‘96, the year that Hershel Wilk returned to Portofiro. It is identified as the “former Republic of Mircea” in Hershel’s official Operant Bureau dossier. Hershel was living in Mircea with her mother as late as ‘79. Her radicalization as a student resulted in her being persecuted by Mircean monotheists, which forced her to defect to the People’s Republic of Kohila sometime before ‘82.

An unnamed monotheistic religion was practiced in Mircea; this same religion also has followers in Portofiro. The deity of this religion is named Polaris.

The language of the country is known as Mircean.
