Ghost Recorder - Do Not Open
An arc of fire trails across the sky, hurtling toward the ground. Officials in highly reflective suits cordon off the crowd and clear the debris. Are you ready to face your past? Ghost Recorder is the Conditioning Thought specifically about CASCADE's relationship with her own '91 burn and the Whole Sick Crew she used to run with. The buffs reward her for opening the file. The violation punishes her for closing it again.

Description
An arc of fire trails across the sky, hurtling toward the ground. Officials in highly reflective suits cordon off the crowd and clear the debris. *Are you ready to face your past?*
Ghost Recorder - Do Not Open is one of four documented Conditioning Thoughts, alongside Primitive Accumulation, Single-Write Only, and The Quest For It. Thoughts are conditioned by spending Skill Points to reinforce them, which activates the Reinforced Effects. They can be suppressed without being removed.
The flavour is doing the work. The crash, the reflective-suited officials, the cordon — this is CASCADE's '91 burn, refracted. The 'Ghost Recorder' is the labelled box of memories she's not supposed to open. The Thought is the box opening anyway.
In '91 her Portofiro operation went catastrophically wrong, the Whole Sick Crew scattered, and Hershel was sent to Satellite Facility B in Novessa — the Freezer — for five years of cold storage. She's back in '96 because PSEUDOPOD got hurt and the Bureau needed a body that knew the city. The old crew — Karolina, Ramses, Ezsti, Vespar — are still around, tending PSEUDOPOD in the safehouse, carrying years of unfinished business.
Ghost Recorder is the Thought she picks up when she lets that history back in. Reward for facing the burn — penalty for looking away.
Builds & playstyles
**Strongest fit:** Analytical builds running Records and Technoflex high. Stacks +1s on top of two anchor stats.
**Great fit:** any build that wants the full Whole Sick Crew arc — 'memories with the old crew' is unique content, not just a buff.
**Ugly fit:** a CASCADE who wants to play '96 as a fresh start. The violation fires constantly. Suppress rather than reinforce.
