Quisach

Quisach is where the entire game takes place. It’s a district of Portofiro — a seaside industrial spit of land, originally a shipping port, now rundown and used as a hub for bootleg and contraband goods. Five sub-locations, one black market, one safehouse, a roundabout, a dockyard, and a web of alleys.

That’s your map.

What’s actually here

Quisach is built out of six interconnected sub-areas. Each is small. Each has a handful of named NPCs and a clear function. The game is structured around moving between them.

Sub-areaWhat it isWhy you go
Bootleg BazaarOpen-air black market in a burnt-out silk factoryWhere Tempo ran the show, where Carmuna sells clothing, where Petre sells media
Party AlleySeedy commercial stripFoto 24 safehouse, Constanz, PSEUDOPOD on a cot, Melita on the phone

The BackwaysSeaside alleysPigeon, Slava, Loud João, Dr. Hugo’s houseboat clinic
Housing CampaignHousing block north of Party AlleyDuchess (Honey-Voiced Woman)

The whole district is connected: Bazaar ↔ Roundabout ↔ Party Alley ↔ Backways ↔ Old Docks ↔ Bazaar. You can loop the whole thing on foot.

Bootleg Bazaar[]

An open air black market that operates in the ruins of Essilk #3, a silk dyeing factory that burned down. It is accessible from the Quisach Roundabout and the Old Docks.

This is the spine of the local economy. Tempo del Sur ran the Bazaar before his murder in ‘96; his office above the floor is one of the first crime scenes you’ll see. The merchandise economy is largely bootleg Luzian cultural goods — Sixty-Six Wolves cups, recordings, Ouroboros Black cigarettes — converted to international formats to dodge the EMTERR Cultural Blockade.

Locations: Abandoned pet shop.

Old Docks[]

An industrial dockyard in disrepair. It connects to the Bootleg Bazaar and The Backways.

The Docks are where the city’s old shipping infrastructure went after the silk industry collapsed. Now they’re a connective area for the maritime economy that’s still working — including, importantly, The Boatman as Tempo’s middleman.

Party Alley[]

A seedy commercial area. It connects to Quisach Roundabout, The Backways, and the Housing Campaign.

This is the Opera’s foothold in Quisach. Foto 24, the photo shop with a second-floor safehouse, is here. So is PSEUDOPOD on a cot. So is the payphone Hershel uses to talk to Melita. Party Alley is also where the city’s vice trade lives — the seedy stretch where nobody asks why a foreign spy is dropping off photographs at the same shop every day.

Locations: Foto 24.

Quisach Roundabout[]

A roundabout with a small plaza, at the center of which is a dilapidated gazebo. It connects to Party Alley and the Old Docks.

The Roundabout is the district’s transit hub. It’s where the Mysterious Teenage Girl — Tempo’s protege — parks her tuk tuk and watches the district come and go.

The Backways[]

A web of seaside paths and alleyways connecting the Old Docks and Party Alley.

The unofficial district. Where Quisach lets its breath out. Old salts on benches, payphones running the Miracle Line, a clinic floating on a boat.

Locations: Dr. Hugo’s houseboat clinic.

How to play Quisach

Three practical reads:

  1. Walk it once before you commit to anything. The district is small. Looping Bazaar → Roundabout → Party Alley → Backways → Old Docks → Bazaar takes a few in-game minutes. Knowing where everyone stands before the first major task lock-in is worth real time.
  2. Most things route through Foto 24. The safehouse is the only “home” Hershel has in town. PSEUDOPOD’s on the cot. The phone to Melita is downstairs. Constanz is the door.
  3. The Bazaar is the political centre, not Party Alley. Tempo’s death and the question of who fills his throne is one of the gravity wells of the game. Carmuna, Malen, Petre, and the Teenage Girl all orbit it.
